EXO-Ls have expressed alarm over recently surfaced videos of Baekhyun hinting injuries to his legs and back. Fans were concerned that the jampacked schedule of EXO's world tour and Baekhyun's activities with Super M are proving too much for the talented vocalist.
According to a report by All Kpop, fans were shocked when a video was leaked showing Baekhyun limping as he exited a car, even having to lean on someone for support. They took to social media to call the attention of SM Entertainment to provide the idol the medical treatment he may need for his injuries.
Fans also tweeted messages of encouragement for EXO's Baekhyun and flooded him with questions about his health.
For his part, Baekhyun addressed the questions on Twitter and posted that he was completely okay. He explained that his legs were only numb from an extended period while sitting in the car. The UN Village singer also said that he was embarrassed because it caused fans to worry.
However, fans were not too quickly appeased by Baekhyun's response, expressing doubt that he was forced by his agency to downplay the fans' concerns about his health. Some even suspected that the singer did not personally post the response since it was made through an Android device while all of Baekhyun's previous posts were from an iPhone.
Some fans defended SM Entertainment from suspicion saying that Baekhyun was, recently, spotted with a new phone, which could be the device he used to make the recent Twitter post.
Baekhyun has been pulling double duty, recently, as a member of EXO and as the new leader of Super M. EXO's tour is still ongoing, and the group is also gearing for the release of their new Japanese single called Bird on November 4.
On the other hand, Super M, a group made up of members of EXO, SHINEE, NCT, and WayV, is expected to debut in October. Members Taemin, Kai, Taeyong, Mark, Ten and Lucas unanimously chose Baekhyun as their leader. At first, the group looked to Taemin to lead as the most senior member of the group, but Taemin shared that he felt Baekhyun deserved the job more, E! reported.
"Since we [SuperM] practiced a lot together, [I noticed] that Baekhyun takes especially good care of the other members, and I rely a lot on him as well. To be honest, I personally wanted to request that Baekhyun take on the role [of leader]," Taemin said.
