Undercover season 2 is officially happening and some reports noted the second installment began its production in Europe. The crime drama series is the first Belgian-Dutch production on Netflix and it was confirmed the new season is coming back on the streaming platform as well.

Undercover season 2 has no official release date at the moment. The series debuted in Belgian pubcaster VRT in February 2019 and it became available on Netflix in May 2019. If ever the upcoming season will follow this timeline, viewers can expect it first in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, and France in February 2020, and then the streaming giant will drop it in May 2020.

But even though there's no official release date right now, it was confirmed Undercover season 2 will consist of 10 episodes as well. Viewers around the world praised the first season of Undercover, thanks to its availability on Netflix. The crime drama series also ranked the streaming giant as one of the most popular series in that category in the UK.

Anna Drijver and Tom Waes are coming back this season, reprising their roles Kim De Rooij and Bob Lemmens, respectively. Other returning cast members include Kevin Janssens (as Jurgen van Kamp), Warre Verlinden (David Lemmens), Nina Mensch (Jezebel van Kamp), Emma Verlinden (Polly Lemmens), Kris Cuppens (Walter Devos), and Frank Lammers (Ferry Bouman ).

The plot of Undercover season 2 was also revealed, recently. The first season focused on the illicit drug trade, but the upcoming installment shifts into a new story and it will now focus on illegal arms business. The story is set a year following the events happened in the first season, with Kim now working for a human rights organization and Bob is still a cop.

The two will work again together after tracing an illegal arms operation, which started in Syria back to Belgium. But this time, Bob is the only one doing undercover to find out more about the illegal business. In the second season, the country will be at the center of much-organized crime, but it guarantees a lot of emotions, humor, and excitement.

Also, drug kingpin Ferry Bouman will return in the new season. He's still in jail, but he's trying to figure out who are the agents that busted him. And since the upcoming installment shifts to a new story setting, the series may be introducing new faces. Filming for Undercover season 2 began in back in April, and it's due to end this September.
