The majority of the "Call of Duty community is preparing for October 25 as well as for the release of "Modern Warfare." However, some fans are already looking forward to the next game that will be released following Infinity Ward's upcoming installation. Unfortunately, a new claim revealed that the development of "Call of Duty 2020" is currently in a poor state.

On Twitter, The Games Revolution was asked by a fan about the state of development of "Call of Duty 2020' and how would he rate it from 1 to 10. According to the popular YouTuber, the game's current state is 3 out of 10. So far as its official name is concerned it is being considered for "Black Ops 5" and "Black Ops" or another black ops themed name.

Obviously, news about "Call of Duty 2020" is very scarce considering that it is still a few years away. But, the YouTuber's most recent tweet corresponds to the earlier report released by Kotaku about the project. According to the site, the project was handed to Treyarch after several issues in the development cycle at Raven Software and Sledgehammer, who were tasked to the "Call of Duty 2020" initially.

Additionally, moving the project to Treyarch breaks the established cycle of "Call of Duty," which saw Sledgehammer, Treyarch, and Infinity Ward alternating since "Advanced Warfare. This simply means that the time Treyach has to develop another game has been trimmed down since the team only has "Modern Warfare's" one-year cycle to succeed the 2018's "Black Ops 4." Several rumors are suggesting that another game installment in the "Black Ops" series is in the works, but so far, as stated by TGR, the official name has not been decided yet.

The most recent claim about "Call of Duty 2020" is unconfirmed but fans are surely disappointed with about it. Some members of the "CoD" community already expressed their desire to move away from the "Black Ops" series following the four consecutive releases from Treyarch. Also, it is worth noting the TGR has a credible reputation and has been accurate in several previous claims.

Between now until the announcement of "Call of Duty 2020" we will surely get more details about the game. For now, we suggest that you take this information with a barrel of salt.
