For Dani Ceballos, a return to Real Madrid will remain a defining moment of his career despite the great things going on for him in North London. With Arsenal, Ceballos is playing good football and appears to enjoy the confidence of Unai Emery. Still, the Spanish international said he'll be most happy returning to Santiago Bernabéu.
Ceballos is on loan with the Gunners in the current season, and things are looking for him. The 23-year-old quickly earned the trust of the Arsenal boss, which was in contrast with Real. There, Zinedine Zidane provided fewer opportunities and as described by Metro in a report, the midfielder had to endure a difficult spell.
Now with the Arsenal, Ceballos has already appeared in eight Premier League Games and naturally felt important and appreciated. Reports have indicated he might stay in England beyond his loan period with the Gunners.
The Spanish begged to clarify, saying he was misquoted.
"When I do not play, I don't enjoy myself ... A player is not happy if he doesn't play, but when he feels important and does, then he is happy," Metro reported Ceballos as saying in explaining what he really meant.
Ceballos added that while he feels happy and important with Arsenal right now, he is not forgetting that he learned a great deal of football with Real Madrid. In fact, his ultimate dream is a return to the Spanish club, which he joined in 2017.
"I never thought of leaving permanently. My goal is to succeed at Real Madrid. I'm going to fight to fulfill my dream," the midfielder declared.
Bleacher Report said Ceballos indeed has found a spot in Arsenal and Emery may just want to keep him since Mesut Ozil is rumored to be moving out. The most notable worth of the Spaniard is providing "a refresh in the creative department of midfield," a quality that both Emery and Zidane have to take note of, the report added.
It's quite clear that to whichever team Ceballos will end up, that club will surely get a significant boost and courtesy of the talented midfielder.
For now, Ceballos is also working on fulfilling his other dreams, and one of them is to make the Euro 2020, which the player noted is easier to realize now with the confidence given to him by Emery.
Another goal on his sight is to win a slot at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Ceballos said he is making sure of securing a spot because "it's something that I may not play in my life again."
"I have spoken with people from the [Royal Spanish Football] Federation who know that I would like to go, I would be delighted. I want to go to the Olympics and to the Euros. There are two tournaments that demand a lot of responsibility," Fox Sports reported the Spaniard as saying.
