The exile of Mezut Ozil from Unai Emery's Arsenal squad continues as the Gunners faced Bournemouth last Sunday. The 30 years old German midfielder was not included in the matchday squad of Arsenal last Monday when they faced Manchester United and faired 1-1 draw. He was also left out when the Gunners beat Standard Liege in the Europa League last Thursday.

Following their win against Standard Liege, the Spanish coach took a massive dig at the German midfielder and said that the highest-paid player of the club did not deserve to even be named as a substitute for the game. And with the way things go, it seems that the Arsenal coach has not yet changed his perspective towards Mezut Ozil. Once again, he was omitted during the team's match against Bournemouth recently.

According to a report, the Spanish coach, keen to provide more reasons for Mezut Ozil's blackout, thinks there are other players in better shape to play than the German midfielder. Ozil is Arsenal's highest-paid player but has been featured only once in all the competitions in this campaign. Unai Emery, however, encouraged Mezul Ozil to continue to work hard to break into his team in the remaining games of the team this season.

The former PSG boss said that every time he decides to get the players for every match he expects that these players will play and contribute. When he decides that a player should not be in the squad, it is because he believes another player is much deserving to be on that spot, Emery adds. Ozil is not injured since he was able to train along with the entire Arsenal team last Saturday.

Following Arsenal's draw with Manchester United last Monday, Unai Emery made a single change and replaced Lucas Torriera with Dani Ceballos in the midfield. Mezut Ozil has been reportedly having a difficult relationship with Unai Emery since he became the head coach of Arsenal last summer. Emery's words against Ozil have become more damning in recent weeks.
