Manchester United has acquired a lot of new talents during the summer transfer window. However, it appears that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not yet done reinforcing his team as news surfaced recently that the Red Devils are already planning for the January transfer window. Interestingly, United's Ed Woodward is confident that they will get Newcastle's ace, Sean Longstaff.

Ed Woodward is assured in confidence that Manchester United will be able to break the resolve of Newcastle and ink a deal with Sean Longstaff in January, according to reports. Last summer, the Old Trafford showed interest in signing the 21 years old English midfielder, but he ended up with St. James' Park. Manchester United shelled out nearly £150million on new players including Daniel James, Harry Maguire, and Aaron Wan Bissaka.

However, Manchester United, through the leadership of its coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, still endured a disappointing start to the season. So far, the team has a couple of wins out of its first seven league fixtures. The Red Devils are preparing to revive their interest in Sean Longstaff and will launch a new bid to bring the Newcastle midfielder to Old Trafford, according to Daily Star.

Newcastle valued Sean Longstaff more than £50 million last summer, Woodward, however, is confident that the team's struggles will persuade them to grant Longstaff's exit in January for only £40 million. Manchester United is also interested in signing Moussa Dembele in the January transfer window to help confront the alarming slide and raise ole Gunnar Solskjaer's chances of making it to the top four. Woodward assured the Norwegian coach that he will have the necessary funds to spend to acquire the Lyon and Newcastle star players.

Earlier reports revealed that Manchester United had sent some of its scouts to observe Moussa Dembele in action for some time during the current season and they think they can get him to play for the Old Trafford with a £50 million deal. Dembele, the 23 years old French striker was from Celtic and moved to Lyon for £20 million in 2018. The French footballer made an impressive first season in Ligue 1.

Dembele scored 15 times and even showed his skills and a strong start to the latest campaign with six goals out of eight games. He is, so far, the leading scorer in the top tier in France. With the absence of Romelu Lukaku, who is now playing for Inter Milan, Manchester United is desperate to sign a new striker.

Newcastle has won one game of their opening seven league fixtures this season. At present, the team is at the bottom of the Premier League's ranking. A week ago, Sean Longstaff admitted that he was flattered to be associated with Manchester United during the summer transfer window despite his injury.
