Just a few days ago, the futuristic design concept of Sony's PlayStation 5 was confirmed accurate by a patent application. LetsGoDigital was the team responsible for the leaked render that surprised the gaming industry. Recently, the team once again released another PlayStation 5 render based on the tidbits of information offered by a Sony insider who confirmed the design as the basis.
The latest PlayStation 5 render is not actually the precise representation of the official next-generation gaming console that Sony will release in the holiday of 2020. The Sony insider confirmed to Gizmodo that the render that went viral last August is suggestive of a device that the Japanese gaming console maker sent to some game developers last summer so they could begin developing titles ahead of the console's impending release. While the new design render is amazing, this may be just another marketing strategy of Sony as a way of giving something to the fans and the media to trigger interest and speculations.

Sony Interactive Entertainment President and Chief Executive Officier Jim Ryan recently spoke to WIRED and revealed that the upcoming gaming console will be officially called PlayStation 5 (PS5). The CEO also announced the release window of the next generation gaming hardware, which is in the holiday of 2020. Earlier this year, Lead System Architect of SIE Mark Cerny shared to WIRED some interesting specs and features of the PlayStation 5. The PlayStation 5 will support ray tracing, with titles coming packaged on 100 GB optical discs that can be installed in separate modules using the integrated 4K Blu-ray player of the PS5, said Cerny. The multiplayer, according to the lead engineer, can be separately installed from the campaign and vice versa. We also learned that the PlayStation 5 is equipped with a custom-made AMD Navi processor and comes with support for 8K Ultra HD.

Several leaks also revealed that the PlayStation 5 has a new power-saving feature that will help save energy and promote energy-efficiency when the gaming console is on standby mode. Sony's CEO Jim Ryan also announced that the PS5 has a new revamped controller equipped with haptic feedback and other advanced technologies for a more immersive gaming experience.
We also learned that the game "Ghost of Tsushima" is exclusively releasing on the PlayStation 5 and will be available at launch. Other rumored PS5 exclusive games include "Horizon Zero Dawn 2," "God of War" and "The Last of US 2."
