The final season of Ballers might be over, but fans are still hoping that they haven't seen the last of the ambitious team of former NFL players. Ballers Season 5 Episode 8 concluded with the best way to end everyone's story in the HBO series. But, is it possible that Players Only teased on the possibility that a spin-off show is in the works? There are speculations that a new series is being developed, but it will not bring back Dwayne Johnson.

In Ballers Season 5 Episode 8, all of the major players got exactly what they deserved. Spencer Strasmore (Dwayne Johnson) managed to get lifetime healthcare for the players while Ricky Jerret (John David Washington) was given an intimate talk show where Spencer just happened to be his debut guest. In the meantime, Joe Krutel (Rob Corddry) finally got the girl while Charles Greane (Omar Miller) convinced his wife that he could continue to live 3,000 miles away. Lastly, Reggie (London Brown) and Lance Klians (Russell Brand) finally got started on a booming gaming business.

It seems like everything ended up nicely for Ballers Season 5, but that hasn't stopped fans from wondering if there is a spin-off series that could happen after the final season. There are speculations that a new show focusing on Reggie and Lance's new venture could be announced soon. However, it is still unclear if Dwayne Johnson will still be a part of the new series. Although it seems like a great idea, it is important to point out that HBO has not yet confirmed this so it's, best to take it with a grain of salt.

The possibility of a Ballers spin-off series has not yet been confirmed, but people can expect to see more of Dwayne Johnson in other projects. He is set to reprise his role as Dr. Smolder Bravestone in the sequel Jumanji: The Next Level in December. In addition to that, the first trailer for his new movie Jungle Cruise with Emily Blunt has just been released. Moreover, Johnson has been confirmed to produce and star in the remake of Big Trouble in Little China, which will also feature Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star Chris Pratt.

Dwayne Johnson will return to Jumanji: The Next Level, which is scheduled for release on December 13, 2019. Jungle Cruise will hit theaters on July 24, 2020.
