Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale cares nothing about British politics. The Welshman still thinks that Boris Johnson is mayor of London and not the prime minister. Clearly, Bale steers clear of anything politics and prefers to talk about sports, preferably football and sports.

In an exclusive interview with The Telegraph, Bale admitted he is ignorant of Brexit and politics at large. He knew Johnson but not as the British PM. Bale said the last he heard of the man was when he was the chief executive in London.

"I genuinely don't know 99 percent of Brexit. I don't even know the prime minister is any more," Football Espana quoted the Real superstar as saying.

For the most part, Bale checks on the news for financial updates, but in terms of developments in politics, "I don't read the rest of the nonsense."

The Wales international is on a forced vacation in London due to injury, but the details on his health status have been withheld by Real. Per the same report, Bale is making use of the Spanish law on privacy, so anything on his fitness status will be kept a secret for now.

There were rumors Bale could soon leave the Los Blancos, but the player insisted he is happy with the club and enjoys the country's way of life.

"I feel very happy living here [In Madrid], the lifestyle, culture, food, weather ... my family's very settled," the Welshman revealed.

He also admitted that fame and football does not excite him in the same when he was young. More so, he is not seeking to become another David Beckham, who successfully transformed his football career into a profitable brand.

Bale said playing golf is more important to him than getting recognized. Whenever possible, he enjoys the anonymity.

"People have their own preferences, but I'd rather just decline away. I don't want to keep promoting myself. When I finish I want a relaxed, quieter life," Marca.com reported the Real star as saying.

He was quick to add, though, that while retirement seems on the horizon when one reaches 30, it is not yet part of the plan.

The Sun reported on the speculations that Bale is a transfer target by Manchester United in relation to a supposed deal that will see Reds forward Paul Pogba making a jump from Old Trafford. If ever the Pogba move will happen, it looked like that United will only agree if Bale will be part of the package to be exchanged.

However, nothing is written in stone for now on the supposed deal, in the same way that Bale was rumored to exit from Real Madrid en route to a football club in China last summer. Nothing came out of the rumored deal as the Welshman is still at Bernabeu.
