Leaks, rumors, and speculations about "Overwatch 2" have been making rounds online over these past weeks. We already heard that the rumored sequel will be announced at this year's Blizzard major event, the BlizzCon 2019. Interestingly, a credible "Overwatch" tipster recently suggested that Blizzard will be making "Overwatch" as a free to play game sometime in the future.

The latest "Overwatch" rumor comes from Metro_OW who has been a credible and accurate tipster. On Twitter, the tipster made a bold claim that Blizzard will 'from now on' make "Overwatch" free to play. Later, Metro clarified his statement saying that Blizzard might make the current game free to play as early as BlizzCon 2019 or until "Overwatch 2" is released.

The tipster claim makes sense because making "Overwatch" a fee to play game will greatly benefit Blizzard. Nowadays, it is unlikely that the game will sell many copies considering that it was released over three years ago. Making it an FTP version could attract more players especially new ones who were never able to get their hands on the game.

Additionally, it could also secure a healthy player base for the series in the coming years. EA did this to "The Sims 4" and later rolled out major updates, which yielded positive results and increased the game publisher's sales in updates and DLC. However, "Overwatch" recently released on Nintendo Switch and it could give Blizzard negative feedback if it announces that the game is now free to play.

While at this point we are not sure if "Overwatch 2" is going to be the game's sequel, several speculations are swirling around claiming that it is a major update for the current game. According to this claim, it will be similar to "Fortnite" which introduced a second chapter. This school of thought also supports the idea of the first game being offered as a free to play version. Blizzard earlier mentioned that it will have a couple of major announcements at this year's BlizzCon. Many fans believe that aside from the announcement of "Overwatch 2," the gaming studio will also announce "Diablo IV." An art book was recently leaked revealing some interesting details about the fourth iteration to the successful "Diablo" franchise.

Meanwhile, another art leak surfaced recently showing several "Overwatch" heroes. The leaked image attracted attention because it shows Sojourn with a maple leaf art on her left shoulder. Fans believe that "Overwatch 2" might introduce Sojourn as a new hero and based on the leaked image, she could be the first Canadian hero in the game.
