A recent report claims that PlayStation 5 is working closely with Sony Music to make sure that PS5 titles will have curated soundtracks. Rolling Stine recently shared that upcoming PlayStation 5 titles could feature closely embedded music from soundtracks that are officially licensed. This rumored next generation feature is because of PlayStation's latest creative partnership with Sony Music.

It turns out Sony Music may play a crucial role in PlayStation 5 exclusives as the company plans to deepen the partnership between PlayStation and the music company. Insiders from Rolling Stone claims that in its desire to achieve the One Sony dream, Sony, is allegedly using the upcoming PlayStation 4 title "Death Stranding," as a crucial benchmark on heightened collaboration between Sony Music group and PlayStation, prior to the launch of the PlayStation 5 gaming console in the holiday of 2020.

The recent report hints that Sony is inclined to feature Sony Music artists in PlayStation 5 games. In other words, gamers could hear more of the like of Beyonce, AC/DC, Camilla, and others in upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive titles. The company's One Sony dream envisions all its media-owned divisions working hand in hand on various projects to create one smooth machine.

"Death Stranding" features Sony Music artists in its soundtrack. Sony is even releasing the official game's soundtrack dubbed as "Death Stranding: Timefall" to align with the game's release. It features Chvrches and Bring Me The Horizon. Sony Music Group CEO and Chairman, Rob Stringer, according to rolling Stone shared that Sony will innovate for the first time on how curated music is embedded in the game.

This move is more focused on the use of Sony Music on PlayStation 5 exclusive games. However, this could also mean that it would restrict game soundtracks, especially if the artists are not signed to Sony Music. There is a chance that gamers will not be able to hear the soundtrack performed by other non-Sony artists.

But, Sony has an extensive list of orchestras crucial to developing a great videogame score. The latest collaboration between PlayStation 5 and Sony could provide more captivating video game soundtracks more than ever. So far, Sony has not yet confirmed if this is the plan, but it appears that a lot depends on the reception of the gaming industry on the release of "Death Stranding" and its official soundtrack.
