"Overwatch" fans and gamers have been anticipating that the game developer will add the new hero, Echo, to the game. Blizzard has already stated that Echo is a significant character with a major role in the lore, but nothing significant has been released about the anticipated new hero. But, according to a new report, it looks as though Echo will not be in "Overwatch" but will be a playable hero in "Overwatch 2."
The massive "Overwatch 2" leak courtesy of ESPN reveals that Echo will be hero 32 of the popular series. At this point, it is not yet clear is Echo will also be introduced in the original "Overwatch" game as a playable hero or if she will only be exclusively available to "Overwatch 2." While BlizzCon 2019 is still a few days away, we have gathered some details about Echo.
In the animated short of "Overwatch," titled Reunion, fans and players have their first glance at Echo. She was being transported on the Route 66 payload and activated by McGee, who asks her to join with Winston and the rest of the gang to reform "Overwatch." Another interesting thing about the playable hero in "Overwatch 2" is that she has been in development for quite some time now.
She was initially known as Iris and was part of the initial patch meeting for the original "Overwatch" game. Echo was based on the concept art of the canceled Project Titan. Her original abilities when she was known as Iris include Speed Boost and Shield, and particle Beam. According to her Wiki page, these abilities were distributed to Lucio and Zarya. When Echo is finally introduced for "Overwatch 2," t is highly possible that she will have far different abilities than what was originally assigned to her as Iris.
It is worth noting that "Overwatch" heroes usually go through several iterations before they are officially released to the game. Considering that Echo's original abilities have been assigned to other heroes, it would be redundant. We will get to know more about Echo when Blizzard officially launches "Overwatch 2" at this year's BlizzCon.

Meanwhile, a coffee table artbook shared by the German site Gamestar recently surfaced online. It seemingly confirmed that the much-awaited game "Diablo IV" might be launched during Blizzard's upcoming event. The gaming studio has yet to respond to these claims about "Overwatch 2" and "Diablo IV." For now, we suggest taking this latest information carefully, considering that these are not official details from Blizzard.
