"Pokemon Go," the world's first and the most popular augmented reality game, retains its popularity three years after its release. The game maintained its user base by ongoing activities and updates, so players always have a new and exciting reason to go out and explore the world. One of the cool reasons is catching a rare pokemon, though a difficult task, and at times almost impossible depending on the kind of pokemon.
One of the most difficult to catch Pokemon in "Pokemon Go" is Ditto. For the uninitiated, Ditto is an amorphous purple blob that has the ability to take any form it wants. It can take the form of any Pokemon that would pass as an ordinary pocket monster to players. This is one of its characteristics that makes catching it a very challenging task.
In "Pokemon Go," the timid ditto could not take any form it wants. Instead, it is constricted to take the form of a limited set of non-legendary pocket monsters. Leekduck, recently revealed that there are currently 14 pokemon that Ditto can disguise as in "Pokemon Go." This is the latest count since Niantic launched the 2019 "Pokemon Go" Halloween update, which means it could potentially change soon.
All the forms are un-evolved and there is no Shiny Pokemon. It appears that Ditto realized that "Pokemon Go" players will most likely ignore the standard boring pocket monsters and go after the exciting ones. To make things even harder, players will never know if the pokemon they go is Ditto until they caught it in its disguised form.
The odds of running into Ditto in "Pokemon Go," considering that it can disguise as a common Pokemon, is extremely low. Also, at this point, we do not have the exact numbers of Ditto available in the game, and most experienced "Pokemon Go" claim they have not yet caught one. The only assurance that you can get Ditto is when you are the type of player that catches everything you see for the first time, and if you are very lucky.

Also, Niantic has developed a talent in hiding and concealing things. Several players are now complaining of having a hard time finding the Halloween Costume Raids. Maybe the team behind the successful augmented reality game has already increased the difficulty level in various events in the game to make it more interesting.
"Pokemon Go" is playable on Android and iOS devices.
