Every year, "Pokemon Go" makes it a point to hold an event in time for the Halloween. This year the popular augmented reality game is already in high spirit with new costumes for pocket monsters and a fresh batch of special research tasks and rewards. Here are the tips and tricks on how to maximize this year's "A Spooky Message" special research task.

"Pokemon Go's" A Spooky Message is a series of special research tasks and rewards. Upon completion of tasks, players are rewarded with items, XP, and of course, Pokemon. "Pokemon Go" veterans will most likely remember that last year, the popular augmented reality game also launched an event that bears a strong resemblance to this year's series of tasks.

The rewards are not the same, but the tasks are basically similar. This year's Halloween special event gives players who were not able to finish the tasks last year to complete it this year. "Pokemon Go" players are encouraged to bring a lot of Pokeballs as well as Berries since both will be needed to complete these special research tasks.

First Step

The first step is for "Pokemon Go" players to expect various challenges including catching 10 Ghost-type Pokemon to earn the Litwick Encounter reward. Players will also be asked to make eight Great Throws, which will reward 1080 XP. Finally, the third task is for "Pokemon Go" to use 108 Berries of any type to receive Sableye Encounter reward.

Upon completing the first stage of A Spooky Message special research task in "Pokemon Go," players will receive 10 Pokeballs, eight Silver Pinap Berries, and 1080 Stardust. The first step will require a lot of Berries, so players must have a lot more in their inventories to make catching pocket monsters in the second step a lot easier.

Second Step

In this phase, "Pokemon Go" will have to catch 10 Dark-type Pokemon to receive the Yamask Encounter reward. Players must also spin eight Pokestops that they have not yet visited before to earn a 1080 XP reward. Finally, "Pokemon Go" will be asked to catch 108 Pokemon and will receive a Spiritomb encounter as a reward.

The second phase is the most challenging part of this special Halloween research task. Catching Dark type pokemon is simple because their spawn rates were recently increased. But, "Pokemon Go" players who usually play in urban areas may have a hard time finding enough PokeStops that they have never visited before. Completing this step will reward "Pokemon Go" players with 10 Pokeballs, eight Golden Razz Berries, and 1080 Stardust.

The third and final step in A Special Message special research task requires "Pokemon Go" to complete any tasks. There will be three task listing and each rewards player with 1080 XP. After taking all the rewards, "Pokemon Go" players will be given more loot, such as 18 Spiritomb candies and 1080 XP.
