"Red Dead Redemption 2" is scheduled to arrive in PC in November, giving PC gamers the chance to experience the intense and exciting Wild West world. But, amidst the excitement, there is one thing that players must consider before making a move. Will you be able to transfer your "Red Dead Online" characters to the game's PC version?
Single-player video titles are not a huge shift for most gamers who prefer to own the game both in the console version and in the PC version. However, this is not the case for multiplayer titles. Porting games from one platform to another is a tedious job, and not there is always that uncertainty that players will not be able to cross transfer their accounts from one platform to another. This is the same question that "Red Dead Online" players should be asking when the "Red Dead Redemption 2" arrives on PC.
Some fans actually raised this question to Rockstar Games, but they got a not so clear answer about this particular issue. A recent message coming from the game's support team reportedly claims that the PC and console versions of "Red Dead Online" are two different editions. This is a solid proof that players will not be able to transfer characters for "Red Dead Online" from their Xbox One to the "Red Dead Redemption 2" PC port.
The claim was further fortified by a Reddit user who reportedly got a response from Rockstar Games when he raised the same question. Although it does not look that way at first glance, the console version and the PC version are technically two varying "Red Dead Redemption 2" games. The Reddit user further shared that the support told him that transferring "Red Dead Redemption 2" from PlayStation 4 to PC is not possible.
Well, the latest development about the PC version of "Red Dead Redemption 2" could sit well with gamers and could also become one of its setbacks. But at this point, it's too early to tell if fans would be discouraged in purchasing the PC version of "Red Dead Redemption 2." Who knows, if the PC version of the game does not go well, Rockstar might do something interesting about this issue.
