There have been several reports a few days earlier about Apple preparing to release a more powerful iPhone 12 in 2020. Bloomberg reported that the Cupertino-based tech giant is reportedly planning to develop the next iPhone with a 5nm-based chip and Qualcomm X55 5G modem. It appears that a new report aligns with Bloomberg's recent claim and it appears that because of this and another upcoming feature, the much-awaited iPhone 12 is going to raise the average iPhone price by $162.
On the Chinese social networking site Weibo, rumors about the retail price of the iPhone 12 have been rife. As per wccftech, whispers on Weibo claim that Apple might increase the price of the upcoming iPhone by 1,000 Yuan or approximately $150. Rumors have it that the iPhone 12 will be retailed at a starting price of 6,000+ Yuan or approximately $900+.
This means that that the iPhone 12 Pro could be retailed between 9,000 and 10,000 Yuan or approximately between $1275 and $1420. The report also states that the iPhone 12 will have 5g support, which could be the reason for its alleged price hike. A report from TFI analyst and Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo in September predicted that Apple would significantly change the design of the next iPhone.
The iPhone 2012 reportedly will have front and rear metal frames with 2/2.5D glass. However, Kuo predicted that the metal frame will be altered to a design similar to that of the iPhone 4, replacing the current surface design. This predicted design change will also reportedly contribute to the alleged price increase of the iPhone 2012.

The Apple iPhone 11 series comes with a stainless steel frame, which is one of the toughest and solid frame materials available in the smartphone market at present. The build is scratch-proof and per the popular JerryRigEverything, it's quite a premium build. Techinsights reported that iPhone 11 Pro Max's non-electronic materials cost the Cupertino-based tech giant $61 for each device.
This cost does not include shipping, design, and other factors that contribute to making all the components work together. At this point, these details about the price of the iPhone 12 are simply rumors and speculations, and we suggest taking these with a pinch of salt and with great skepticism.
