Sony Interactive Entertainment President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Ryan announced that the PlayStation 5 will arrive sometime in the holiday of 2020. This is already good news apart from a series of impressive features that were already revealed, including the Zen 2 CPU that the next generation gaming console will be housing. But it appears that Sony is not running short of surprises because if the recent report is true, fans will certainly love the good news.

Daily Star reported that Sony has recently announced the good news to expectant PlayStation 5 owners suggesting that the PS5 will be retailed at an affordable price. Based on whispers online, Sony's next-generation gaming console is expected to be released around $775 or £600. But, the report claimed that Sony would have to compromise that cost to ensure it will get the fans on its side at the console's official release.

This claim seemed to align with another report from PushSquare, which suggests that the top executives at Sony are currently focused on market penetration and market acceptability in regards to the PlayStation 5. PushSquare believes that Sony would like to set the price of the PS5 at a particular amount that consumers will accept as fair so it can maximize early base installation.

In other words, the Japanese console maker will make sure that it will be very affordable to get fans into the door. But, in terms of how affordable Sony will go for the PlayStation 5 is certainly a huge question, fans would like to know. Several sites even conducted polls on how much gamers would like to pay for the PlayStation 5.

Eurogamer and PushSquare polls suggested that PlayStation 5 fans are willing to shell out between £400 and £500 or approximately $520 and $650. Sony's Lead Architect Mark Cerny confirmed in an interview that the PS5 will support 8K resolution and will run on custom variant AMD Zen 2 CPU. It is also expected to support ray-tracing and backward compatibility, aside from housing a Solid State Drive (SSD) like the PC.

Several game developers earlier explained the crucial role of Solid State Drive in ensuring those gamers' frustrations like lag and loading time will be improved. Sony is very confident in the next-generation technology that the PlayStation 5 houses, and it even once claimed that it is the fastest gaming console in the world.

Of course, these are just speculations, and when it comes to the price of PlayStation 5, we do not have the official details yet of how much it will be officially retailed.
