No matter how much we shake our heads off of the truth. No matter how much our world denies it. Pornography is slowly creeping within everyone's reach. And your children can be at risk.

In the statistics, shared by Tech Addiction, showed how much the internet world has already been infiltrated by pornographic contents. According to the site, about 12% of all the websites you can find on the internet nowadays are pornographic. That is a total of about 24, 644, 172 sites, which your kids are prone to watch. Nowadays, experts claim children as young as nine are already exposed to these contents.

"Due to the nature of the internet, even if a kid is just searching for illustrations or scientific information about bodies, bodily function, or how babies are made, porn is typically the number one or number two search result," according to Erika Lust, the founder and owner of Erika Lust Films and XConfessions.com. Given all this reason, parents must make sure to talk to their children about the truths behind pornography and sex before the world teach them the opposite.

So how should parents talk to their kids about these sensitive issues? Here are some tips.

HELP THEM GET MORE COMFORTABLE WITH YOU.

For most teens, talking about issues regarding sex can be very awkward. This is why most teens hide their curiosity towards their parents and, instead, would just discover the answers to themselves. So it is important to make them feel relaxed first. Talk to them about not just how important these issues are but also how one shouldn't feel embarrassed about it too. Let them be reminded you are also their friend, who they can trust and discover things with.

TELL THEM, NOT EVERYONE WATCHES PORN AND THE POSSIBLE EFFECTS OF IT.

Peer pressure is rampant among kids, especially the ones we have nowadays. Your kids might have also felt that pressure too, while a friend or someone is trying to insist porn for him to watch at school or someplace. Inform them, the importance of saying no. Tell them that not everyone is interested in watching porn, and it is ok.

Watching porn or getting engaged in this industry, might seem a small deal, but health experts say the effects are actually worse. As reported by Fight The New Drug, watching these videos can't just alter someone's body but can also change their psychological state especially towards sex. The satisfaction it can give can also be compared to drugs, which is addicting, making it very dangerous for kids.

So, let's save our children and their future. Show them you care as you take time to talk to them with an open heart about this matter.
