Food is crucial and needed by our body to keep it working at its best. It is our body's source for nutrients, minerals, and vitamins to withstand the day or even to fight off foreign bodies, which can cause harm big time.

Unfortunately, not all people can eat the right kind of food sufficiently depriving their body of the nutrition it needs. In a report conducted by the Unicef, it was revealed how children are more prone to nutrient-deficiency than adults and teens. According to the statistics, five out of six children under the age of two are suffering from it.

Several factors can lead to nutrient-deficiency among kids, but one of the most common and relatable reasons is how fussy children can get when it comes to their food, as revealed by the Readers Digest.  So, how can one handle and correct this?

INCLUDE THEM IN YOUR SHOPPING

"Take your children to the supermarket with you, and let them help to choose food that they like and that you are going to make at home together," advised Amanda Jenner, who is a potty training guru and children's behavioral expert. Children love to always get involved in whatever their adults are doing. Going to the grocery with them gives them that satisfaction and also the opportunity to choose the food they prefer and are craving for.

LET THEM HELP YOU AS YOU PREPARE THEIR MEALS IN THE KITCHEN

Children who love to prepare their meals tend to have more appetite than those who don't. So if you want your kids to increase their desire towards food, don't forget to invite them to help in preparing their meals. It doesn't just allow them to be familiar with the stuff you include in their meal, but it also gives them the chance to bond with you, which could help create a deeper and healthier relationship.

GET CREATIVE WITH THEIR FOOD

Kids love fun and art. So, creating things out of their food can sure make their meal more exciting, which could entice them more. Use ingredients such as bread, cheese, fruits, veggies, greens, and cereals in creating faces, animals, and funny figures. Doing so would also give them more enjoyment and happiness during meals. They would definitely love you more for these.

Don't get mad with your children when they become too fussy when it comes to their food. Know it is just normal especially for toddlers as they reach the age of two. Remember, there are still ways to overcome this, and your child needs you for it. Follow these tips and your kid's behavior will be corrected in no time.
