Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly trying to be fit so he could face old rivals Atletico Madrid. The 34 years old Juventus superstar missed the game last Saturday against Atalanta with Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain coming to the rescue to secure the Old Lady's victory. It can be recalled that Juventus coach Mauricio Sarri was anxious about Ronaldo playing for the Portugal national team because of the fear that it might aggravate his knee injury.
Before Cristiano Ronaldo played for Portugal, rumors are making rounds online of a spat between the superstar and the Juventus coach. Ronaldo reportedly got mad when he was pulled out of the game while Sarri explained that he made a move because he was worried about the striker's knee. The issue attracted more speculations when Portugal coach claimed that Ronaldo is fit and was training normally with his Portugal teammates.
Later Ronaldo admitted that he is suffering from a knee injury and denied rumors that he had a disagreement with the Juventus coach. A new report from Tuttosport claims that Cristiano Ronaldo has been training and wants to be a part of the game in Turin against Atletico Madrid. The report adds that Sarri would be desperate that his star player is fully rested and in good condition to take on Atletico.
In a recent statement, the Juventus coach says that he hopes Ronaldo will return to the Champions League on Tuesday. He shares that the football legend has a little problem that is affecting his training, causing him to struggle. Sarri states that a lot of things depend on how Ballon D'Or winner feels and he needs to rest.

The Portugal captain made his 99th goal during the nation's match against Luxemburg where fans were chanting Messi's name. He failed to achieve the milestone but was able to help Portugal win and get into the Euro 2020 Qualifiers. Ronaldo is also a contender in 2019's Ballon D'Or award where he is the third odds-on favorite distantly trailing behind Lionel Messi and Virgil van Dijk.
