Tottenham Hotspur has been making headlines since last week following its surprise announcement that it is letting go of Mauricio Pochettino. Within 24 hours, Daniel Levy announced again that former Chelsea and Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho would be Hotspur's new coach. It appears that the Portuguese coach is determined to start a revolution at Tottenham with new reports claiming that he is planning to hijack Manchester United's January transfer.
Express Sport recently claims that Tottenham Hotspur is interested in signing the free agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic following Jose Mourinho's appointment as the new club manager. The Portuguese coach reportedly called the Swedish striker and talked to him about joining Tottenham. Manchester United had also been linked with the Swedish footballer a few weeks ago.
It is worth noting that 'The Special One' was the one who signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic during his tenure as a coach at Manchester United. With his appointment at Tottenham, it seems that he wants the service and skills of the Swedish striker once again. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be a free agent in January, according to Telegraph, with his contract with LA Galaxy expiring after a two-year stint. La Republica recently reported that Mourinho personally made a phone call to the 38 years old striker and asked if a second spell in the Premier League would work.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made 52 goals in his 56 appearances for the Los Angeles Galaxy. Aside from Manchester United, he was also recently linked with Bologna and AC Milan. However, reports are rife online, claiming that Jose Mourinho is hoping to hijack other club's pursuit of the 38 years old striker. During his time at Manchester United, Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored 26 goals in 46 matches.
The new Tottenham Hotspur manager reportedly wants to see Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the ideal deputy to Spurs' leading striker Harry Kane. At present, the Hotspur has no backup striker since Fernando Llorente moved to Napoli, and Vincent Janssen transferred to Mexico with Monterrey. The Telegraph also shared that Tottenham, with Mourinho's recommendation, is now looking into signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The 38 years old Swedish striker attracted the interest of several clubs in Europe with the Italian giants reportedly talking with the player and his agent. Earlier, LA Galaxy boss Guillermo Barros Schelotto leaked that the Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to see out his career in Italy. But, The Special One will be wishing to get him to north London along with Nemanja Matic, Bruno Fernandes, and Ruben Dias.
