Sportsmail columnist and former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes that the Gunners should consider getting Mauricio Pochettino as Unai Emery's replacement. The former Tottenham Hotspur manager was sacked on Tuesday with the club wasting away in 14th place in the Premier League five months after it reached the Champions League final. Meanwhile, former Ranger hero Ally McCoist is urging the Argentine coach to drop Manchester United and move across north London to Arsenal.

Unai Emery and Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer are both under extreme pressure because of their respective clubs poor performance this season. Fans have been calling out for their resignation and have been blaming them for the current standing of Arsenal and Manchester United. With Mauricio Pochettino's recent exile from Tottenham, it appears that both managers are also at higher risk of losing their posts.

Speaking at SportsMail's "A Pint With Piers," Martin Keown stated that there is no need for the Gunners to panic because the club has the best of seasons. However, that power that be at the top of the team should be seriously considering Mauricio Pocchettino, the former Arsenal defender noted. Keown shared that he has a lot of admiration for the Argentine coach, especially on what he did with the young players at Tottenham.

The former Arsenal centre back claimed that Pochettino's departure from Tottenham could trigger uprising all through the division and even in Europe. The Gunners are currently sixth on the Premier League table and eight points away of Manchester City in fourth. In recent weeks, Unai emery stripped Granit Xhaka of his captaincy and saw a tight set of results.

Leicester City beat the Gunners at 2-0 before the international break. Another former footballer who appreciates Mauricio Pochettino is Allis McCoist. The Ranger hero is urging Pochettino to snub Manchester United for the Gunners following his departure from Hotspur. The Argentine manager enjoyed four successful seasons at Tottenham and even took the Spurs to the Champions League final in the previous term.

However, following a miserable start to the 2019-2020 campaign, he was replaced by former Chelsea and Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho. Pochettino has been linked to Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint Germain, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal in recent weeks. In one of his most recent interviews, Mauricio Pochettino expressed that he is very much willing to return to Spain, suggesting the likelihood to lead Real Madrid.
