Newly appointed Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho is indeed 'The Special One' with his classy gesture during the club's recent match against Olympiacos. The Portuguese coach thanked, high-fived, and hugged the ball boy, whom he said, played an important part in Harry Kane's first goal for the Hotspur. Mourinho's gesture endears him to Spurs' fans.
On Tuesday night, following Tottenham's 4-2 win against Olympiacos, Jose Mourinho publicly showed his appreciation for the ball boy. Tottenham was trailing 2-1 when the ball went out for a throw-in to the hosts. The young ball boy raced and threw the ball to Serge Aurier, who found Lucas Moura.

The Brazilian footballer crossed Harry Kane, but Kane slotted home an equalizer. It was Jose Mourinho's first home game as a sitting manager of Tottenham Hotspur, and he was quick to acknowledge the ball boy's role in Harry Kane's first goal. Speaking to BTSport, the Portuguese coach said that he loves intelligent ball boys and revealed that he was a brilliant ball boy himself as a kid.

Mourinho added that the boy is brilliant, understands the game, and got an assist. He said that for someone to do what the ball boy did, he has to be a very good ball boy. The new Tottenham coach shared that he tried to invite the boy to the dressing room but has already disappeared. Glenn Hoddle, a football pundit at BT Sport, also praised the ball boy saying that it was brilliant and asking if the boy gets an assist in fantasy football.

Jose Mourinho also offered his apology to Hotspur's midfielder Eric Dier after pulling him out on 29 minutes. With Tottenham trailing, The Special One replaced the midfielder with Cristian Eriksen. Mourinho revealed that the most challenging time for him during their game was not when the Olympiacos scored goals, but when he made the change during the first half.

He admitted that his decision hurt players and himself as well. He also said that Dier is an intelligent player who understands what the team is and knows that it was not about his performance but about what the team really needs at that time. Mourinho said that he apologized to the midfielder, although Dier knows that his decision was for the good of the team.
