Unknown to some, "Cyberpunk 2077" is the adaptation and continuation of "Cyberpunk 2020," which is a revolutionary tabletop game that used the cyberpunk genre. The upcoming title is anticipated to be bigger than the previously released tabletop game. Interestingly, the original creator of "Cyberpunk 2020" reveals that "Cyberpunk 2077" has some hidden dark themes and messages.

The cyberpunk genre, in general, is loaded with social and political themes explains "Cyberpunk 2020" Original Creator Mike Pondsmith reveals during his interview with Games Industry. The intention is usually to hook players with the grimy but cool world and then bring you to a certain point in the future where you will have to think about what it all means. As the main character in "Cyberpunk 2077," there will come a time when you will stop and look at your hands, and you realize that it has been cut off and replaced with machine hands, the creator explains.

When you want to send a message that is something bigger than a game, in this case, "Cyberpunk 2077," you have to let players find it for themselves, Pondsmith reveals. The creator adds that all they have to do was lay the trap, and players just have to step on it. The genre itself is always misunderstood, preventing other game developers from dwelling on the theme for fear of making a solid political stand.

Meanwhile, more details about "Cyberpunk 2077" have been recently shared online through Reddit. Some fans fire questions and CR Projekt Red enthusiastically answered them. When asked of players will have the option to burn Night City with johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves' character), CDPR replied, of course. The game developer, however, did not go into specifics about this, so it is unclear if players will be able to burn the city to the ground down or it is more of a symbolic speech.

But, it is definitely exciting to finally play as Keanu Reeves burning a city, if the game developer literally means the burning of the Night City. Additional details revealed include if the player waits long enough to pick a dialogue option, the person you are conversing with will eventually get agitated, which will have consequences in some cases.

"Cyberpunk 2077" is slated to release in Apr. 2020 and will be playable on various gaming platforms. This includes PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. There is no confirmation yet if the game will also be released in next-generation gaming consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett.
