Blizzard has a lot left to say about "Overwatch 2," which it introduced at BlizzCon 2019. While the gaming studio has not yet revealed the release window of the much-awaited sequel, it hinted that it would launch a lot of improvements from the current version. While the BlizzCon's unveiling was only an introduction to the plans of the game developers, a recent interview offered insight on the upcoming heroes of the game.

In a recent interview with the PlayStation Blog, Blizzard reveals more details about the heroes in "Overwatch 2." We already know that Sojourn will be one of them, but there are exciting details that Assistant Game Director Michael Chu recently revealed about the upcoming characters in the game. While he did not confirm the specific number of heroes that will be introduced in the game, he noted that there would be lots of them for "Overwatch 2."

We do not have the details yet about the gameplay or the identity of these heroes, but the assistant game director promised that these heroes would round out the world of Overwatch in "Overwatch 2." Chu is pointing out that Blizzard is not going to release a new "Overwatch 2" hero out of necessity. However, each time a hero is introduced, he/she also brings a new idea or concept into the game.

In other words, each hero is not just another name but an extension of the gameplay systems and story of "Overwatch 2." Sojourn is a new character coming in the game but has been repeatedly teased in the current game. She also appears to have a different look compared to the early concept art revealed in "Overwatch."

It appears that "Overwatch 2" is the prime opportunity for Blizzard to introduce Sojourn's character and story in the Overwatch world. Sojourn will be extremely important to the events that will take place in "Overwatch 2," Chu revealed. With possibly more than a year of development, a lot can still change about Blizzard's plans for the much-awaited sequel.

Chu's 'lots of heroes' recent statement could change to a few heroes depending on what will be the focus of Blizzard's development. For now, it is interesting to know that the game developer is planning to introduce a lot of heroes in "Overwatch 2" that will introduce new mechanics, gameplay experience, and story. "Overwatch 2" is currently under development and is anticipated to release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
