Cristiano Ronaldo is a legend in the world of football, and his awards are just some of the proofs to this. But his superstar status is some sort of responsibility because his actions are always tainted with intrigues. Former Italy star Antonio Cassano is reportedly convinced that there is an issue between Ronaldo and Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri, while another report claimed that the Juventus Talisman stayed in his car during a recent awarding ceremony and only showed up to receive the award.
Cristiano Ronaldo has a big problem with Maurizio Sarri; that's according to former Italy star Antonio Cassano who is reportedly convinced that Juventus is hiding issues between the two. It can be recalled that the Juventus coach substituted Ronaldo on several occasions this season that led to speculations that the relationship of the pair is turning sour. Several sites also claimed that Juventus was anxious when Ronaldo played for his country's team because it might aggravate his knee injury.
Sarri earlier revealed that one of the reasons he pulled Ronaldo out of the game was because he was concerned about his knee injury. Cassano believes something is going on between Sarri and Ronaldo. Everything started with the two consecutive substitutions, which will annoy any player, Cassano told Tika Taka. Cassano believes that Juventus is trying to keep things down between the two.
Meanwhile, Barcelona captain Lionel Messi made another history when he won his sixth Ballon d'Or award this year. Messi left his arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo behind with five Ballon d'Or awards. The Juventus talisman trailed behind Liverpool's Virgil Van Dijk in the third place and was not seen at the gala.
Ronaldo skipped the awarding ceremony of the prestigious French football award-giving body to receive his award in the Serie A ceremony in Italy. The awarding ceremony happened to be at the same time as the Ballon d'Or, where the Portuguese football legend was hailed as the Most Valuable Player of the Italian league for the 2018-2019 season. Ronaldo said that he was honored to receive the award and thanked his teammates at Juventus.
Ronaldo also shared that he is very happy to play in Italy and thanked everyone who voted for him. The Juventus reportedly waited in his car until the time his name was announced as the MVP.
