Various tech enthusiasts and critics find the 16-inch MacBook Pro is a premium laptop that addresses all the issues with previous-generation models. Recently, however, several users complained about hearing a popping or clicking sound coming out from the audio of Apple's latest premium laptop. While the Cupertino tech titan has not yet released the fix for this issue, several users who have recently upgraded their laptops to macOS Catalina 10.15.2 discovered that the sound issue was fixed.

Early reports from several 16-Inch MacBook pro owners who have upgraded their premium laptops' OS to macOS Catalina 10.15.2 claim that the latest build fixes the popping issues that riddled the machine. A Reddit user claims that after installing the latest macOS build, the popping issue is gone even after several attempts of triggering it using various apps that owners claimed were affected by the popping sound issue. Several 16-inch MacBook pro owners reported the same on various online forums.

On MacRumors' forums readers, Lobwedgephil, Dextera, and donawalt all say that the popping issue on their 16-inch MacBook Pro is completely solved. However, reports from other users are mixed with some of them claiming the update improves the popping issues but does not completely fix it. Several other users are hearing light, and more muted popping sounds in various apps.

This includes Safari, Chrome with the popping sound already gone in apps like Spotify. The macOS Catalina 10.15.2 does not say that it comes with a fix for this particular issue experienced by some owners of 16-inch MacBook Pro. In its notes to service providers, Apple stated that the fix for the popping sound issue on Apple's premium laptop would require plural updates and not a single update.

This may explain mixed claims of 16-inch MacBook Pro users when they updated to macOS Catalina 10.15.2. It appears that the latest macOS build partially addresses the issue; however, further software updates may be needed to resolve it completely.
