A report claimed that Houston businessmen and entrepreneurs claimed that its vicinity's trade ties with China are growing stronger. After attending the second China International Import Expo 2019 last November, the attendees shared through a debriefing meeting that their investment missions to China found great opportunities in several sectors to flourish in China.

According to China.org.cn, a 24-member business delegation run by the Greater Houston Partnership (GHP) discussed the developments and highlights of the China International Expo (CIIE) 2019 during a debriefing meeting last Monday. The attendees of the CIIE 2019 claimed that they can flourish in business sectors in China involving big data management, education, logistics, finance, innovation, legal, and medical services.

The director for Asia, Australia, and Oceania at GHP Jensen Shen said that China and the United States (US) complement each other when it comes to trade and industry services. Shen added that after attending the CIIE, the attending Houston businessmen and entrepreneurs visited several provinces in China such as Shenzhen, Hangzhou, and Shanghai. During their visits, the report claimed that they held "Invest in Houston" seminars which led to the signing of six MOUs in each city. Shen also claimed that the agreements showed good progress for their ventures.

Representatives from Houston who were delegates of the meeting also shared their experience while visiting China. Executive Director of Sealy Economic Developing Corporation Robert Worley claimed that the visit was an amazing experience. He said that he had fun visiting China and could see his firm succeed in those areas. He further added that he had been exploring other business opportunities in China as well.

Worley also shared that he had been informing about a hundred Houston businessmen of the business opportunities in China. The report claimed that he told them China is flourishing and that establishing business ties with China has yielded promising future profitability.

According to Xinhua, the second CIIE started last November 5, 2019, until November 10, 2019, in Shanghai. The expo was reported to have catered around 71.13 billion USD-worth of tentative business deals. The said deals were said to concern one-year worth of goods and services purchased. Moreover, it was revealed that the turnout for the 2019 CIIE had better budget forecasts compared to last year's 23 percent.

In other news, China Daily claimed that GHP is supported by the Asian Chamber of Commerce and consists of 20 business executives and government officials from Houston. The said CIIE visits also involved the nine large Chinese investment 'prospects' that GHP initially manifested as places with great business opportunities in China.
