Will Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle agree to work together to reunite their feuding husbands, Prince William and Harry? A royal expert said that this is what Buckingham Palace must do to repair its reputation.
According to royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, Kate and Meghan must make a pact after the holidays to help their husbands work out their alleged rift. By working together, the duchesses are not only helping their respective spouses heal this feud. They are also helping Queen Elizabeth and the royal family, who will need this type of good public image.
Nicholl went on to explain that the pressure is on Kate and Meghan to save the royal family in light of Prince Andrew's links to the Jeffrey Epstein sex scandal. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge must put a united front in public with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Apparently, Queen Elizabeth expects the four royals to "relieve her of her pressures" as she turns 94 in 2020. With her alleged plans to retire on her 95th birthday, Prince William and Kate, as well as Prince Harry and Meghan, will have to begin working closely with one another.
Nicholl also said that Kate will likely be most willing to make a pact with Meghan as the dedicated peacemaker. The royal expert said that since the Duchess of Cambridge has been in the royal family far longer than the Duchess of Sussex, Kate is more aware that pacifying the brothers' feud will be to the best interest of the House of Windsor.
In October, Prince Harry told journalist Tom Bradby for the documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey that he and Prince William see less of each other these days than before. As brothers, they have good and bad days but the Duke of Sussex also acknowledged that they are currently on different paths. He also said that no matter what happens in their lives, they will remain brothers and will always be there for each other.
Prince Harry and Meghan also decided not to join the royal family for Christmas this year. Instead, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in the United States with Meghan's mother. The couple has received criticisms for this decision. Some royal observers said that they should have stayed for Christmas with the Queen since she and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, no longer have many years left.
