Is President Donald Trump showing signs of dementia? Speculations are rife that the POTUS, who is in his '70s, could be suffering from the neurological condition.
A video showing Trump talking to crowd in West Palm Beach, Florida last Saturday before Christmas has drawn yet another attention to his state of health. It showed the president nodding to someone away from the stage and then mouthing off a garbled and incoherent speech.
Journalist Natalia Antonova reposted the video and wrote that this was a rather telling video for anyone who has dealt with relative with dementia. Other netizens chimed in and said that Trump is showing psychiatric symptoms as well as neurological symptoms. They also said that the president's symptoms aren't even slowing down and are, in fact, quite the opposite.
This was not the first time the speculation about dementia has come up. In April, people also debated on Trump's cognitive deficits.
Those in the mental health industry apparently wrote a letter to Dr. Ronny Jackson, the president's physician, to give Trump a full neuropsychological evaluation. Dr. Jackson had Trump go through the dementia screening tool, Montreal Cognitive Assessment, which the president passed. But the test would only work best for full-blown dementia and not the onset of the condition.
Meanwhile, according to Daily Express, Trump was taken to the hospital sometime one Saturday in November for a series of medical tests. Apparently, this was an unscheduled check-up, further sparking rumors that the president was not on good health.
Details of his most recent medical tests were not revealed to the public. It comes as Trump also had a scheduled doctor visit 10 months before, where his physician declared that he was "in very good health."
White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said, however, that the president had a hospital visit that Saturday because it was a free weekend. Apparently, Trump has been going back and forth to the Walter Reed Medical Centre at least nine times since he has been sitting in the White House.
Trump is the oldest person to be elected as President of the United States. During his campaign, he was allegedly the healthiest oldest person to run for office.
His doctor stated that Trump will once again go through a comprehensive examination once the holidays are done. The expert also assured the public that the president doesn't have any chest pains, acute issues and elevated symptoms. If anything, the tests are routine and preventive.
