Former First Lady Michelle Obama was in the White House serving the American people with former President Barack Obama for eight years. While they enjoyed the perks and privilege of being the First Family, Michelle said that she experienced some very tough moments, especially during their first four years.
In her best-selling book "Becoming," Michelle revealed that she realized the very tough job she had when she was expected to join her husband for hospital visits to the victims of mass shooting and other disasters. She said that she struggled a lot as she witnessed many of this devastating aftermath but she relied on prayers and faith to be able to comfort the victims.
At one point, Michelle and President Obama paid succeeding visits to different mass shooting sites. She revealed that one of the ways she managed to stay calm was to be present and caring as she talked to the victims and their families.
Michelle has been in the headlines in recent times as news of her potential presidential bid is catching fire. According to Daily Express, followers of the Obamas have been urging the former First Lady to file her candidacy. Some supporters also think that Michelle might spring a surprise and declare that she's going to run for president at the last minute.
The ex-First Lady, however, have been saying time and again that she will not seek the highest position in the U.S. Michelle said that staying for eight years in the White House was more than enough and it is now time for new people with new ideas to help the nation.
She also said that politics is not in her interest even if she is married to a successful politician. So, she doesn't see herself sitting at that Oval Office desk. Instead, she will focus on working for her advocacies, such as girls' education.
Michelle and Barack are also charting different project for 2020, including an important deal with Netflix to produce TV shows and documentaries that will educate the public on issues that matter to personal development and social consciousness.
Meanwhile, the Obamas recently unveiled their Christmas card on Michelle's Instagram. It featured a simple illustration of a tree to represent the "millions of people constantly striving to be mindful, compassionate and caring." The card was signed by Michelle, her husband the ex-president, their two daughters and their dogs Bo and Sunny.
