Michelle Obama is one high-profile mother who is very close to her daughters, Malia and Sasha. Now that her girls are grown women, she still regards them as her babies and admitted she and her husband, former President Barack Obama, finds great joy in embarrassing the girls.

The former First Lady told Entertainment Tonight that she used to enjoy threatening Malia and Sasha, who are now living away in college, that they would buy an apartment near their school. Michelle shared that she'd tell the girls she and their father would sit in their classes when they come and visit them.

The accomplished mom of two said that she used to joke to her kids in public while they were still at the White House. Michelle would, sometimes, whisper to her girls that she's going to embarrass them and start dancing if they don't sit up from their chairs.

Michelle said that they're just like any other parent with embarrassed children. It's a good thing, however, that the Obama girls were raised right and are taking all the jokes and ribbing in stride.

The truth is Michelle is proud that her daughters are thriving on their own. Malia and Sasha are taking campus work-study jobs, traveling, and experiencing all these wonderful things that are not tied to their parents' work in politics.

Malia and Sasha were just 10 and seven years old when they moved into their White House. Needless to say, they grew up surrounded by security and staff workers, which is a huge change from their independent life today as college kids.

Meanwhile, the former First Lady also shared that their lives are miles different from their eight years at the White House. In another interview with Entertainment Tonight, Michelle shared that she's getting the taste of the real world again after living in a resident where everyone did everything for them.

For instance, she spent her first time alone in their new house just a few miles away from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. She relished opening the kitchen cabinets and working at the counters on her own because she didn't have the chance to do this while her husband was president.

Today, Michelle and her husband are experiencing empty nest syndrome with their daughters out of the house and charting their lives in college. The former First Lady said that she and Barack are rediscovering each other again after years of putting their kids and careers as the priority.
