In the study, the researchers learned how those who regularly drink wine have a bigger diversity of good bacteria in their guts than those that are not fond of drinking at all.
The diversity of good bacteria in the tummy shows the kind of digestive tract a person has. The greater the diversity, the better one's food digestive system. Furthermore, it also reveals good weight management and also immune functions.

Aside from its rich flavor, there are still a lot of things that make wine extra special, that's according to The Healthy. Two of which are the polyphenols and ethanol. According to a 2017 review in Circulation, these two components found in the wine work together to help protect the body from chronic cardiovascular diseases.
Also, wine has this antioxidant resveratrol and tannins known as procyanidins, which is also considered a vital component in keeping excellent heart health. Aside from protecting the heart, procyanidins are also best in securing a person from having type 2 diabetes and keeping one's immune system at its best.
BETTER BONE HEALTH
Though drinking a lot of alcoholic beverages can cause your bones to get thin and weak, consuming wine a little a day can help keep the bones stronger. This truth is backed up by a study conducted in 2017 in PLoS One, which reveals how light drinking can cause "better bone density."
After observing several women as their study's subject, researchers found out that those who are drinking an average of one glass of wine a day, "have increased bone turnover, a sign of bone remodeling, which helps to build new bone and prevent bone loss," explains Kristine Arthur, MD. Arthur is an internist at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center located in Fountain Valley, California.
Drinking wine can be beneficial to the body, indeed. But unfortunately, being an alcoholic beverage, it is still better to consume it moderately as it can also pose risks in the body, as revealed by the Alcohol Organization. Negative effects of too much alcohol include high blood pressure, blood clots, irregular heartbeat, heart attack, and cardiomyopathy. Long term excessive drinking can also result in malnutrition and anemia.
