Sony Interactive Entertainment President Jim Ryan announced last year that the PlayStation 5 would arrive sometime in the holiday of 2020. But, Sony has not yet revealed the PS5, and what we have, so far, is just the next generation gaming console's official logo. Based on several rumors, it seems that the highly awaited gaming console would be fully revealed next month.

Annual Destination PlayStation Event

The Japanese gaming console maker is not going to host its yearly Destination PlayStation event, according to journalist Mike Futter, as reported by Video Game Chronicle. The event is held every February each year booked for third-party partners and retailers. Sony's Destination PlayStation event is also the usual venue for the company to unveil its plans and products for the future.

Speculations claim that Sony may be focusing its resources on another event, so it opts not to host the Destination PlayStation. The most likely event that could let the company miss this is a major one, which could be the official unveiling of the PlayStation 5, according to rumors. While nothing is confirmed yet, it appears that this is one of the indicators of the possible PS5 February reveal.

PlayStation Meeting

The game developer of "Twisted Metal" and "God of War" David Jaffe said that the heavily rumored PlayStation Meeting is less than four weeks away. The PlayStation Meeting is the alleged event where Sony will officially reveal the PlayStation 5. The game developer shared this information on his Twitter account.

We do not know if the game developer is merely speculating or revealing something about the Japanese console maker's plan. However, Jaffe said that the announcement is the worst kept secret in the gaming industry at the moment. The game developer's statement points to a possible February PlayStation 5 official reveal.

Experience PlayStation

Sony has an event now called Experience PlayStation, which opened on Jan. 14, 2020, and will run through Feb. 16, 2020. The event is held in Sony's Square in New York City and is from 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM every day. On Sony's official website, it describes the event as a means o "celebrate 25 Years of Play with a collection of titles on PS4 and PSVR."

This event caught the attention of PlayStation 5 fans since previous unveiling and releases of the company happened in New York. It also aligns with the previous rumor that the PS5 would be revealed on Feb. 12, 2020. At this point, these are mere speculations of the potential full reveal of the PlayStation 5. We suggest not to get too excited about the latest details.
