Motorola announced last year that it is reviving the old Razr name through a new smartphone with a foldable screen. In November, Motorola announced that the release of the much-awaited clamshell-like handset would be delayed. Earlier this year, the company said that the Motorola RAZR would arrive on Feb. 11, but it appears that it would be delayed once again.

Delayed Release for Motorola RAZR?

GSMArena first reported that the listing for the Motorola RAZR now shows that it would be released on Feb. 18. The product listing is not only on the official website of the company but also on the website of Verizon. In the US, Verizon is the official and exclusive carrier of the foldable Motorola RAZR.

Originally, the Motorola RAZR was slated to arrive on Jan. 9 with pre-orders starting on Dec. 26, 2019. However, the manufacturer later announced that the pre-order and the shipping would be delayed. Motorola finally said earlier this month that the pre-order would start on Jan. 26 with the release on Feb. 6.

Motorola did not announce that the arrival of the Motorola RAZR would meet another delay. In fact, when you pre-order today, you would see that you wouldn't receive the unit until Feb. 18. It is not clear if all deliveries were pushed back or if the company just run out of stocks for the next batch of pre-orders.

Motorola RAZR Specs And Features

The Motorola RAZR features a 6.2-inch plastic OLED with 2142 x 876 pixels and an aspect ratio of 21:9. It houses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage. Additionally, it packs 2510mAh with 15W fast charge support.

For its camera configuration, the Motorola RAZR features a 5MP primary camera and 16 MP main shooter. It comes with a USB-C port and a fingerprint sensor. The upcoming foldable smartphone from Motorola retails at $1499.99.

The company is also planning to launch the Motorola RAZR 5G. This particular version would be exclusively sold in China, according to reports. It is anticipated that this variant would sport a more powerful SoC and higher battery capacity since it is a 5G version.

Motorola RAZR is not the only foldable smartphone to get postponed several times. Samsung experienced this with its first foldable smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy Fold. Huawei suffered the same fate with its Huawei Mate X.

Motorola has not yet issued any statements related to the alleged delayed release of the Motorola RAZR. It could mean that the delayed-release is for newly placed pre-orders only.
