Ten years ago this week, Steve Jobs introduced to the world the iPad. The Apple co-founder once said that the iPad would take the place of notebook computers. While Jobs' vision has not yet materialized, this year, here are the anticipated features that Apple might introduce to its 2020 iPad series.

Since last year rumors about the 2020 iPad have been rife on the Internet. In Sept. 2019, the Korean site the Elec shared that Apple would launch a refresh 2020 iPad Pro line up equipped with a 3D sensing rear camera. This particular feature is believed to be more powerful than the FaceID technology.

A month after, Japanese site Mac Otakara and tipster Sonny Dickson both claimed that the next-generation iPad Pro would feature a triple-lens camera system. TFI Securities Analyst and Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo said last year that there is a 50 percent chance that the next-generation iPad Pro would adopt the Time of Flight (ToF) sensor. He also said that the 2020 iPad Pro could receive a major display upgrade.

According to Kuo, the upcoming premium tablets could feature MiniLed technology. It could allow Apple tablets to sport a lighter and slimmer form factor without compromising the quality of the visuals. Aside from these, Digitimes reported a few days ago that the 2020 iPad Pro could release with a backlit scissor-switch type Smart Keyboard.

It suggested that a significant hardware upgrade of the accessory is in the works. Another report from Digitimes earlier this month revealed that Apple might release a 2020 iPad Pro with 5G support. According to Digitimes, Apple tapped Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, which is a component firm, to provide for the antenna it needs for the mmWave 5G.

This information from the Taiwan publication seemingly confirms that the 2020 iPad Pro lineup could include a more premium model. As for its camera specs, rumors claim that it would feature as 12 MP primary shooter and another 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera. The third camera is still unknown, but if Kuo's earlier statement is to go by, it could be a telephoto sensor.

As for its physical features, OnLeaks recently shared renders of 2020 iPad Pro. The renders show that the upcoming Apple tablets share a similar form factor with its predecessor. So far, it is not yet known if the 2020 iPads would feature a glass or aluminum backs.

These are not official details of the 2020 iPad Pro. It only means that this information should be taken with a good measure of skepticism. The 2020 iPad Pro is anticipated to arrive on Mar. 2020, according to rumors.
