Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro on Thursday. Both flagship smartphones are 5G-enabled. The Xiaomi Mi 10 is available starting Feb. 14, while the Mi 10 Pro would be available starting Feb. 18.

Flagship Smartphones Launching

Despite the threat of COVID-19, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched its 5G-enabled smartphones at its headquarters in Beijing. The Xiaomi Mi 10 went on sale earlier today, and the stocks only lasted for a few seconds before it was gone. The flash sale initiated by the company generated more than CNY 200 million or around 50,000 units.

The flagship smartphones from Xiaomi are anticipated to debut in Europe ahead of the Mobile World Congress, which was recently canceled due to concerns on threats of COVID-19. The launching was live-streamed, and the company did not invite any media at the event, perhaps for safety purposes.

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro Specs and Features

Both Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution. Both have a touch sampling rate of 180 Hz. The flagship smartphones feature a hole-punch cutout and house a 20 MP selfie camera.

Both Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro house the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with 12 GB LPDDR4 RAM. When it comes to camera configuration, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro sport a 108 MP primary shooter, a 12 MP short telephoto lens, 8 MP long telephoto lens, and a 20 MP ultra-wide lens. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi 10 features a 108 MP primary sensor, 13 MP wide-angle lens, and a couple of 2 MP shooters.

Both Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro are capable of recording up to 8K resolution videos. The mi 10 Pro comes with a 4,780 mAh battery pack while the Mi 10 packs a 4,500 mAh battery with 50W fast charging support. The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro support WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and dual-mode 5G. Both flagship smartphones run on Android MIUI 11.

Xiaomi Mi 10 retails at $573 for its 8 GB RAM and 128 GB version. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro with base specs of 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory would retail at around $716. Its 12 GB RAM with 256 GB internal memory would retail at $788, while its 12 GB RAM and 512 GB internal storage would retail at around $859.

Xiaomi is shaping up to produce flagship killer smartphones, just like what it did with the POCO F1 in India. The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro both highlight killer specs and features at a definitely much affordable price compared to their flagship rivals.
