Kate Middleton's first photo after giving birth to Prince George was widely praised more than six years ago for she seemed to show no signs of difficulty with her labor. The Duchess of Cambridge smiled lovingly for the cameras as she carried her newborn son and stood at the entrance steps of St. Mary's Hospital along with her husband Prince William.

Now it can be told, however, that the iconic scene of Prince George's public debut with his parents was terrifying for the Duchess of Cambridge. She divulged, in an interview, for the Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast that she was quite jittery during that traditional photo opportunity.

However, Kate said that she felt that moment was very important for a lot of the British people who also waited outside of the hospital when she gave birth to an heir to the throne. She said that the public was so supportive her and Prince William that they were conscious of sharing the joy of their son's birth.

The royal also opened up about feeling mixed emotions with being a new and inexperienced parent. As much as they were excited to be mom and dad for the very first time, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were also equally scared of what was up ahead.

Kate shared that Prince William used to practice his parenting skills with a doll. The Duke of Cambridge used a dummy to learn how to strap the baby in a car seat while at the parking lot of the hospital on the day Prince George was born.

The Duchess of Cambridge said that they took a while to adjust to being new parents as their house became noisier with a crying child. With three kids today, however, the Cambridges seem to have perfected their parenting skills.

As much as possible, Prince William and Kate are hands-on when it comes to raising Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. In one interview, Prince William shared that he reads the book Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson to his children before their bedtime.

Despite their busy schedule working for Queen Elizabeth, Prince William and Kate take time to play with their kids outdoor, or allow them to help out in the kitchen. Their royal duties may be high on their priority list but being around their kids is also a big deal for the Cambridge couple.
