How did Queen Elizabeth achieve a royal smile? Apparently, she had braces as a young girl and she revealed that getting fitted with the wires was all worth it.

The Queen was visiting the Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals on Wednesday, Feb. 19, as some children were waiting to get fitted for braces. Sensing their apprehension, the monarch assured them that she had braces and she thinks it worked well for her in the end. Her Majesty also spoke to 10-year-old Ilia Aristovich and said that she had professional help with straightening her teeth.

Queen Elizabeth is not the only royal who had braces as a child. Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie wore braces as teenagers. Prince William, on the other hand, wore metal retainers at the bottom of his teeth as a young adult.

The monarch also talked to 8-year-old Lily Conlan who was celebrating and commemorating the day she received her cochlear implants to improve her hearing. The Queen remarked to Lily that it's a good thing she could hear better now.

Lily said that she celebrates with a party every year as she got her implants close to her birthday as well. Queen Elizabeth told her that the party was a "splendid" idea.

At the ENT, Queen Elizabeth was also shown how the Rotatory Chair Testing works to help diagnose the patients' ear problems and wondered if it was a comfortable procedure. The staff at the center said that she is the consummate professional.

The 93-year-old monarch wore a regal purple coat with a matching colored hat for the day's royal engagements. She completed her wardrobe with a pearl necklace, a brooch, a pair of handgloves and her signature Launer London handbag.

Queen Elizabeth attended to her royal duties as her third child and allegedly favorite son, Prince Andrew, celebrated his 60th birthday. Last month, the Queen decided not to proceed with Prince Andrew's milestone bash in Buckingham Palace.

Instead, some members of the royal family are having a small dinner at the Duke of York's home in Windsor. It is unclear if the Queen will be there but she publicly greeted her son on his milestone birthday through the Royal Family social media accounts.

Prince Andrew has been trying to stay away from the royal limelight due to his controversial association with the convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. In November, the royal stepped back from his work with the royal family.
