Prince William and Kate Middleton are already on the final set of engagements for their three-day royal tour in Ireland. While they reportedly spent the first day of the tour with the country's leaders and officials, as well as to commemorate the efforts of the people for the sake of the country's independence, the second day of their visit largely focused on strengthening relationships and bonds with the people, especially the youth.
As per BBC News, the Cambridge couple's Wednesday engagements started with a visit at the National Center for Youth Mental Health, Jigsaw, where they met and spoke to the staff. It was noted that their discussions mainly involved their collective efforts at the "charity's Temple Bar premises."
Aside from this, Prince William and Kate Middleton also reportedly went to the Savannah House, which is located in County Kildare. It was said that the "residential facility" supports several young people who have lived with various kinds of issues like drug and alcohol problems and homelessness.
The visit was then followed by their attendance at the Howth Marine Institute where the royals reportedly learned about "marine sustainability." The itinerary was also said to include an engagement at Teagasc, which is the country's Agriculture and Food Development Authority.
While the Cambridge couple engagements with the people, especially the youth seemingly went successful, it was said that the main highlight of the day was when they visited the Museum of Literature Ireland in Dublin City center. As reported, Prince William shared a speech to the audience, which made their first-ever royal tour in Ireland much more iconic and heartfelt.
Based on the publication's assertions, the Duke of Cambridge made a reference to Queen Elizabeth II's words when she visited the country in 2011. Although it does not have the same "historic weight" as the monarch tour almost a decade ago, the Cambridges' arrival in Ireland has more "solemnity."
According to The Irish Times, the second person in line to the throne largely talked about the "importance" of the relationships and "strong bonds" between Ireland and the United Kingdom. While Prince William did not reportedly mention "Brexit", it was claimed that his speech essentially calls for "working together" despite the "changes" that have been occurring in recent times.
He also talked about the "confidence" that he has toward the two countries' "shared vision" for a "prosperous future," which he also pointed out as one of the main factors to ensure that the bonds between the people of the two countries will not be "broken."
Prince William and Kate Middleton's Ireland tour will conclude on March 5. They are expected to immediately return to the United Kingdom after attending to their final engagements in the country.
