Prince Harry is determined to forge a different path, which is different what the royal family wanted for him before he got married Meghan Markle. In doing so, an insider revealed that the Duke of Sussex is likely "never looking back" at his strained relationship with his older brother, Prince William.
In a revelation on People, the source said that Prince Harry and Prince William's relationship has forever changed. The insider also said that Princess Diana's boys are not going to get back to the way things were as Prince Harry is looking straight ahead to his new life with Meghan and their son Archie Harrison.
The brothers' feud began two years ago when Meghan became a huge part of Prince Harry's life. Prince William apparently cautioned his younger brother that his new romance was moving too fast. Rumors that the brothers, who were once super close to each other, aren't getting along circulated not long after Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding.
Soon after the wedding and welcoming their first son, Prince Harry and Meghan expressed that they were struggling with the royal limelight. The negative news about the rift with Prince William, including the scrutiny about their lives, have affected the peaceful existence they wanted.
In an interview with ITV, Prince Harry implied that he and Prince William are no longer close. He said that while he still loves him as his brother, they no longer do the things they used to do together.
In January, Prince Harry and Meghan announced they would like to step back from their royal duties. Royal observers speculated that Prince Harry and William's rift will widen further with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex expressing that they want to live in North America.
Another source intimated with Us Weekly, however, that Prince William and Harry's relationship, including the relationship between their wives, is "cordial." Despite this, there's apparently just "too much mud under the bridge" so the brothers can't exactly have meaningful communication.
The source, however, revealed that Prince Harry misses the company of Prince William and his sister-in-law Kate Middleton. Meghan, on the other hand, is not much affected by the estrangement. It's been implied that she is used to dropping family members in her life hence she could focus her energy more on raising baby Archie.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will officially no longer be senior members of the royal family by March 31.
