The next-generation flagship smartphone from Apple, the rumored iPhone 12 series, is one of the most awaited line-up releasing this year. But, the Cupertino tech juggernaut has not yet confirmed any of the reports or claims related to the upcoming smartphone series. A new report surfaced recently revealing the impressive camera specs not only of the iPhone 12 but also of the 2020 iPhone model.

Earlier this month, a leak surfaced online, revealing the possible camera specs of the iPhone 12 series. We learned from the leak that the flagship iPhone lineup would feature several rear camera enhancements. Recently, Macrumors released a report revealing more details about the iPhone 12 camera specs based on the latest note from TFI Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

According to the respected Apple tipster, the Cupertino tech giant would release a 6.7-inch iPhone 12 model that will feature a sensor-shift stabilization technology. Kuo further reveals that this particular technology would be available to two or three other new iPhone models arriving in 2021. An earlier report suggested that the upcoming iPhone models might feature hardware stabilization on the ultra-wide camera shooter.

It is worth mentioning that the current generation iPhone 11 series features the ultrawide camera, but it relies on Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and not on hardware stabilization. Kuo's latest claim is seemingly backed by a recent report from Taiwan-based publication Digitimes. The report also claims that the sensor-shift image stabilization feature will be available on the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 arriving this year.

Additionally, Digitimes says that that the technology would also be available to a couple of 6.1-inch premium iPhones arriving this 2020. Apart from these, Kuo also mentions some details about Apple's iPhone releasing in 2022. He predicts that at least one model of the 2022 iPhone would sport a periscope lens.

This periscope lens, according to Kuo, could enable a 5x optical zoom similar to that found on Huawei P30 Pro. But, there is a chance that it could be 10x optical zoom to rival that of the rumored Huawei P40 Pro. At present, the iPhone 11 series max out at 2x optical zoom and 10x digital zoom.

It is worth mentioning that while these details about the iPhone 12 series came from reliable sources, these are not yet official yet. We suggest taking this information with a good measure of skepticism. Apple is anticipated to launch its next-generation flagship smartphone series, the iPhone 12, sometime in Sept. of this year.
