It's no secret that the wait for The Mandalorian Season 2 will still be a long one considering that the Star Wars series isn't due to air on Disney+ until October. However, it looks like there have been some exciting developments about the series. It has been confirmed that Rosario Dawson will be a guest star in the second season and there have been reports that the Daredevil actress might play a live-action version of Ahsoka. Needless to say, this has led to speculations that the show will also reveal what happened to fan-favorite Ezra Bridger after the events in Star Wars Rebels.
In the final season of Star Wars Rebels, Ezra Bridger's fate was left ambiguous. In Family Reunion and Farewell, Ezra made his way towards Grand Admiral Thrawn but the purggil took hold of the villain's flagship and immediately tried to take it to hyperspace. Although the rest of the Ghost crew tried to persuade him to give up on his mission, Ezra chose to stay in the ship in an effort to defeat Thrawn for good. Sadly, it was never revealed what happened to Ezra after the ship jumped into hyperspace.
Interestingly, Star Wars Rebels also concluded with some hope for Ezra Bridger. At the end of the season finale, Sabine Wren teamed up with Ahsoka Tano as they set off to find Ezra. Unfortunately, this still doesn't answer questions about the Jedi's fate. However, fans have once again found hope in the recent casting of Rosario Dawson in The Mandalorian Season 2.
Several reports have confirmed that Rosario Dawson will join the cast of The Mandalorian Season 2. Needless to say, the casting news led to speculations that the Defenders actress will portray the adult Ahsoka Tano although her guest role has not yet been announced. Nevertheless, fans already have ideas on what could happen if the former padawan shows up in the series. For instance, Ahsoka could finally reveal what happened during her search for Ezra Bridger.
For now, it is still unclear if Ezra Bridger or Ahsoka Tano will be a part of the second season of The Mandalorian. With that in mind, it is best to take this with a grain of salt.
Production on The Mandalorian Season 2 is currently on hold due to the Coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). However, the Star Wars series is still expected to return on Disney+ by October.
