Johnny Depp and Amber Heard didn’t only have a disastrous marriage, they are also currently dealing with a bitter divorce. Now, a new report claims that the actor is wearing a bulletproof vest because he’s afraid that his ex-wife might try to kill him.
According to NW, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s tumultuous legal battle is making the actor increasingly “paranoid.” The Pirates of the Caribbean star filed a $50 million lawsuit against his ex-wife for defamation, which is why the couple is at each other's throats even though their divorce proceedings were already finalized in January 2017.
The outlet claims that Johnny Depp is “living in tons of fear.” The source said that “He’s convinced he’s going to be assassinated by Amber or some domestic violence avenger and no one can tell him otherwise.”
However, Gossip Cop quickly slammed the report, stating that there is no truth to the claims. The site pointed out that it would be impossible for Amber Heard to “assassinate” Johnny Depp as she is self-quarantining at her home due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Amber Heard shared an Instagram video on Monday where she can be seen picking oranges from a tree in her front yard for breakfast. The caption read: “Keeping social distance by sourcing from my organic orchard… or from the one orange tree in my front yard.”
Despite finding NW’s story to be ridiculous, Gossip Cop still checked on someone close to Johnny Depp if these claims were true and they confirmed that they’re absolutely false. The actor is presumably self-isolating as well, so being murdered by Amber Heard is probably the least that he’s thinking at the moment.
Meanwhile, video footage obtained exclusively by Daily Mail showed Amber Heard rolling her eyes, smirking, and eating cookies while listening to Johnny Depp’s audiotapes that were recorded back in 2016.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard were discussing an incident on the recording, where the actor claimed that his then-wife struck him in the head with a bathroom door and punched him in the jaw. “I’d just been hit in the head with a f**king corner of the door. And then I stood up and then you f**king clock me,” the actress can be heard saying on the tape.
The actress was then allowed to explain her side after the recording was paused. Amber Heard claimed that she did what she did to escape Johnny Depp’s assault.
