It’s no secret that Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise are not just the typical mother-and-daughter pair; they are each other’s best friends. The duo always had a close relationship, especially after the Dawson Creek star’s very public split from Tom Cruise.
Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise are so close that they are often photographed together despite the actress’ effort to keep her personal life as private as possible. However, a report claimed that Suri sought out “comfort” from Tom Cruise after her life with her mom became “unstable.”
“Now that she’s 12, she’s decided she wants to have more of a relationship with him and has really been pushing her mom to let her see him,” the source said. “She just packed her bags and told her mom that she wasn’t taking no for an answer and demanded to see her dad.”
But, Gossip Cop quickly slammed the New Idea report, stating that there is no truth to the claims. The site pointed out that it would be impossible that Katie Holmes would allow her daughter, who is still a minor, to fly alone across the country to visit Tom Cruise, who hasn’t been a father to her for years.
Also, Gossip Cop noted that the “evidence” that the tabloid included should not be considered as a piece of evidence at all. The snap was of Suri Cruise carrying a suitcase outside of her home, and New Idea failed to say that the young girl was accompanied by no other than her mother Katie Holmes at the time.
Meanwhile, a previous report claimed that Suri Cruise was still hoping to have a relationship with Tom Cruise despite growing up without him for quite a long time.
The said report revealed that Suri Cruise was “desperately missing her dad” and, supposedly, asked her father a heartbreaking question, “When can I see you?” However, Gossip Cop also debunked this scoop.
If the claim was true, then Suri Cruise’s alleged plea will just go down the drain due to Scientology’s strict rules. In fact, the thought of Tom Cruise and his daughter’s reunion is more likely never going to happen because of the Hollywood superstar’s devotion to his organization.
Scientology is known for separating families once a member decided to leave the cult-like religion. Since Katie Holmes ended her marriage with Tom Cruise back in 2012, the actress is considered a “Suppressive Person” or “SP” in Scientology; therefore, the actor should disconnect from her even if it means cutting ties with his own daughter as well.
