Retired NBA player Dennis Rodman has been known to do the unthinkable, including out some things outside the basketball court. Controversial as The Worm is at times, he is still among the loved personalities in the sporting world to date.

And while most know him to be the vicious rebounding demon and irritating defender in the NBA, he did dip his hands in the wrestling ring back in 1998. This was when he teamed up with Hulk Hogan at WCW Bash at the Beach where the duo went up against Diamond Dallas Page and fellow former NBA player Karl Malone. For those who may have failed to see that, a video clip can be seen below.

Rodman, now 58-years-old, recently responded to a question on whether he would be open to wrestling again in a report by NBC Sports. The five-time NBA champion was open to the idea and already had an opponent in mind - former NFL player Rob Gronkowski.

As most know, Gronkowski recently signed with WWE. He was supposed to host Wrestlemania 36 but it appears there will be changes ahead due to the coronavirus pandemic. There is no telling if Gronk will see action in the ring for now. But most feel that he eventually will, following the footsteps of other WWE stars who came from the world of football.

As for Rodman, some are concerned that he could get hurt by stepping back in the ring. If it does happen, he faces a younger and physically fit athlete who is only 30 years old. But the two-time NBA All-Star seems to care less for as long as the match gets done.

“He talks a lot of [expletive]. I’m 50 years old, and you like 32, 33 years old. It don’t matter to me, let’s go out and do this [expletive],” Rodman said.

Gronkowski first invaded the WWE scene at Wrestlemania 33. He helped Mojo Rawley in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal in a cameo appearance. At the time, the former tight end was in the crossroads of either continuing his NFL career or calling it quits. When he did retire, the first thing that went through people's minds is that he would be joining the WWE bandwagon. That speculation finally became a reality recently.

The WWE has likely heard about Rodman's rant and will take that potential clash in consideration. However, don't expect that to happen any time soon with the COVID-19 virus forcing most to stay indoors.
