Most folks are now in self-quarantine with social distancing strictly enforced. People are now trying to find ways to keep themselves busy, either by surfing or entertaining themselves through some form of movie or game. One app that most may never consider using is "Pokemon Go."

The reason behind that is simple - it is a gaming app that requires most to be on the move and socialize. But thanks to some tweaks on the part of Niantic, a large number of augmented reality players are logging on and keeping themselves busy via "Pokemon Go." It turns out that Niantic has increased monster spawns and has come up with an ingenious way to hold events even while players are just at home.

One event that has been announced via the Pokemon Go Hub is Raids at home. Per the post, Raid Battles will soon be possible without people having to leave their homes. Aside from that, other planned enhancements from Niantic include improvements to Adventure sync and also planned live events with gamers not required to set foot out of their own homes.

Even before that, the tweaks made by Niantic are noticeable. Increased monster spawns and discounted items are being offered to aid in keeping folks busy. And based on the data returned by Sensor Tower, it appears that Niantic's efforts have reeled in big revenue. "Pokemon Go" has made about $23 million for its efforts, a 66.7 percent jump from its numbers last week.

It would be best to note that Niantic is doing this even without its planned events. Already scrapped are all Safari Zone events, Legendary Raids and Abra Community Day. With these likely out of the picture, game developers have buckled down to work to offer augmented reality gamers something perhaps better with the COVID-19 strain keeping most from wandering off from their homes.

For a game that has been experiencing ups and downs, the sudden splurge in revenue was likely unexpected. Being a social-focused game, it was one of the apps that would have dropped dramatically since no movement made it impossible to play.

But with discounted items such as the incense package, "Pokemon Go" players just have to set it off and lure pocket monsters to come to them. These are likely common critters most normally see. Given that most have nothing better to do, playing "Pokemon Go" may suffice from now with special events following soon.
