Prince William and Kate Middleton have made a special update on their official website. They have listed down all of the charity projects they are currently busy with to help those affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Hello, Prince William and Kate are working to ensure that frontliners, first responders and their families have the proper support as they continue to treat and save lives in this public health crisis. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge said that they are partnering with many charities to let the frontliners know that their service is much appreciated.
Among these projects include a team-up with Shout, a 24/7 service that will allow NHS workers to be in touch with a crisis volunteer for professional and specialist advice, mental health support, bereavement care, and even financial help. Mental health and wellness have always been an important facet of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's charity works.
In early April, Prince William, reportedly, directed his royal staff to look into ways to address the needs of the NHS frontliners, including their mental health. Apparently, the Duke of Cambridge was "gravely concerned" for their welfare so he asked his team to intensify their resources and tap charities that they could work with to make this happen.
Sources said that Prince William and Kate have been keen on helping a thousand healthcare workers early this year, before the pandemic hit. The crisis has led the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to increase their efforts to potentially award grants and other services so that they can help more people, especially those in the medical and essential services.
Prince William and Kate are working hard despite being in lockdown at Anmer Hall with their kids -- Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. The Cambridges have been staying in their Norfolk estate since the middle of March, after the U.K. government proposed social distancing and limiting movements to slow down the rate of infection and deaths from the coronavirus.
With their royal engagements canceled, Prince William and Kate have been working at their home office by doing video and phone calls to different people and charities. They have also been calling kids of frontline workers to see how they are doing in school amid this pandemic.
Prince William and Kate have also been sharing parenting duties and homeschooling duties of George and Charlotte. The Cambridges are expected to stay in Norfolk for a long while as London try to lessen coronavirus infections and flatten the curve.
