Prince Harry and Meghan Markle briefly stayed in Canada after the announcement of their withdrawal from Royal life before heading to Los Angeles. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are aiming to start a new life in the US but their plans were suddenly cut off due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Prince Harry discussed the importance of mental wellbeing during the lockdown during a video call to parents and carers of severely ill children. The Duke of Sussex commended them for their efforts during the global health crisis and appeared to admit that he’s feeling guilty that he’s “having so much family time.”
"I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is for you guys. Me, having one kid at 11 months old is tough enough,” he said. "There are a hell of a lot of positives that are happening at the same time, like being able to have family time. So much family time that you almost think, do I feel guilty about having so much family time? Well, you have got to celebrate those moments where you are on the floor in hysterics because of something that has happened. Then inevitably, half an hour later, maybe a day later there is going to be something that you have to deal with."
Prince Harry then noted that the most important thing is that the parents and carers have each other while they deal with the crisis.
"Right now there is no way you can run away from it, you can't even distract yourself from it in another room," he shared. "As long as you guys are looking after yourselves and each other that is the best thing you can do."
It was previously reported that Prince Harry may be feeling isolated during his move to Los Angeles with Meghan Markle and their son Archie. Royal expert Angela Mollard said that the Duke of Sussex feels “very separate” from the Royal family during the coronavirus outbreak.
"He is separated from his family at a time when the rest of the world is using Zoom or WhatsApp to chat with each other,” she said. "I can hardly see that happening, he must feel very separate. He doesn’t have friends in LA, she does. She has Doria, she has her family. While Meghan might have been feeling equally as removed when she lived in the UK. For Harry, friends and his brother have been the people that have supported him through the years since his mother’s death. To have that stripped away I think will be very discombobulating for him."
