Prince William and Kate Middleton continue to be assets to the Royal family. Their union is something that even the public can relate to, making them two of the most popular and well-loved royals.

However, it’s not always rainbows and butterflies for Prince William and Kate Middleton. Just like any other couples, the pair also had some relationship troubles that led them to break up. Now, a royal expert claims that their brief split made them question their relationship.

"It felt like a wedding that came not in a hurry. They had all those years together,” Angela Mollard said. "They had split up during that time. So they had been able to really question if this was a relationship they wanted going forward."

The royal expert then pointed out that Prince William and Kate Middleton are now stronger than ever. In fact, the Duke of Cambridge himself previously revealed that their split was something that he needed at the time.

“Well I think, to be honest, I wouldn't believe everything you read in the paper but in that particular instance we did split up for a bit,” he shared. “But that was just, we both were very young, it was at university, we were sort of both finding ourselves as such and being different characters. It was very much trying to find our own way and we were growing up, and so it was just sort of a bit of space and a bit of things like that and it worked out for the better.”

As for Kate Middleton, she admitted that the break up was hard for her, but revealed that she learned a lot from it. "At the time, I wasn't very happy about it, but it made me a stronger person… I valued that time, for me as well, although I didn't think it at the time,” she said.

Now, Prince William and Kate Middleton recently celebrated their ninth wedding anniversary. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge share three beautiful children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Meanwhile, Prince William is the second in the line of succession to the British throne and Kate Middleton is the future Queen consort. The Duke of Cambridge had been preparing himself for his upcoming role for years, with Queen Elizabeth mentoring him along the way.

In the Royal Family's official diary, the Court Circular, it stated that Prince William had a meeting in Kensington Palace last month. Editor of Royal Central Charlie Proctor said that the Duke of Cambridge is "preparing to become King."
